I was on United Healthcare and very happy with my services. I had an unexpected pregnancy and at that time found out that I was switched to Magellan without any knowledge or information sent to me.

My dad and grandmother unexpectedly died and I was back on antidepressants for a short amount of time. Apparently that was just cause to switch me???? I had been on them in the past without any issues and was off of them before my switch into Magellan. I was unable to find an Obstetrician who took the plan and was given names and numbers to providers that supposedly did.

One doctor decided to take me after a case worker named Carol called. Well, this office is horrible and my care has been horrible as well. I need a special doctor to take care of me and they donโ€™t take Magellan, not even on a special case basis. I am on my 4th grievance with ACHA and the plan.

The case worker stopped my plan switch because she found me a doctor and thought I was ok with staying but never asked me. My medications arenโ€™t paid for, my doctor that I had been with for 19 years wasnโ€™t taking it and my life and babyโ€™s life depends on this new doctor to see me. I have had to pay hundreds of dollars in a month over 2 visits. I have to come up with $2200 in less than 2 months to continue with her to deliver my baby.

Iโ€™m in open enrollment and need the date to be now and Magellan is saying May 1, 2018. My baby is due in April and I have complications already. I have 3 other kids and I canโ€™t afford this. I was supposed to be on a preterm labor shot for the last 20 weeks and the insurance company and the doctors office screwed me.

I am besides myself as to what to do. Do I take a chance and stop my care and show up at the hospital??? It wouldnโ€™t be much different than the only doctor that I was forced to see actually. My information was never put into a chart, missed important blood tests due at a certain time because the doctor forgot to give it to me, the shots, they close for โ€œvacationโ€ when appointments are already scheduled, etc.

This is seriously the worst insurance company and the worst treatment. No wonder nobody takes this insurance. Also, after looking Magellan up online, it says it is for people with serious mental illness. (Not to mention they have sooooo many complaints against them I see) Iโ€™m very offended.

Iโ€™m sorry that I was depressed after my 60 year old father was found dead in his driveway the day before my birthday when I was going to see him and a day short of two months later my grandmother died of food poisoning..... Seriously! That means I have serious mental health issues? I was put on an antidepressant!!!!

Most of the countryโ€™s on them.

I was off of them completely though when I was switched to Magellan. Does anyone have any information that can help me?

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Not sure if you are dealing with Dr. Daniel Corboy or not, but he is either very greedy or highly incompetent.
